Rolling Stones fans are getting some new music – well, newly-released. The rock legends have unearthed their 1974 collaboration with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, “Scarlet.”
This – holy grail collaboration of legends – release from the Stones’ golden age is released from the vault as part of the band’s upcoming deluxe reissue of “Goats Head Soup.” The multi-format reissue – due for release on September 4th – features at least three previously unreleased tracks, including the long-lost Page collab.
“My recollection is we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session. They were just leaving, and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay,” Keith Richards recalls. “We weren’t actually cutting it as a track, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well, with a line up like that, you know, we better use it.” Listen to the song above!
