The life story of magicians and entertainers Siegfried and Roy is coming to the big screen. Long in development (originally as a TV production), the upcoming biopic from German director Michael Bully Herbig will explore the history of Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Uwe Horn, who met on a cruise ship in 1960.
Driven by their common passion for the art of magic and illusion, the duo went on to develop their famous act and eventually established themselves in Las Vegas as one of the city’s biggest acts, performing for more than 25 million people. Their long and hugely successful career ended tragically in 2003 when one of their famous white tigers attacked and critically injured Horn during their show at the Mirage. Siegfried and Roy themselves are credited as executive producers on the project, so those hoping for more of an explanation about the duo’s long-rumored sexual history together may be out of luck.
