Just when you got over the stress of thinking your social security number was compromised or the IRS was out to get you, comes another scam. This one arrives in a text message, and looks like a tracking number from Federal Express. However, when you click on the link to track your “shipment,” you’re directed to a fake Amazon page where you’re offered a “reward” if you complete the survey. Spoiler alert – it’s fake, and your credit card will be charged $98.95 each month for your “reward shipment.” When in doubt, always check the web address. If it doesn’t say “Amazon,” then it isn’t.
