Queen got a big boost from their Academy Award-winning biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” starring Rami Malek. After grossing $900-million worldwide and raking in all those awards, rumors of a sequel have spread.
The potential sequel would most likely focus on Freddie Mercury’s final years battling HIV and recording the Queen albums “The Miracle” and “Innuendo.” But guitarist Brian May isn’t optimistic about the idea of a follow-up. In a new interview with “Rolling Stone,” he says the band “didn’t think” it would come up.
“We’ve talked. Basically, we think not, at the moment. Things could change, I supposed, but I think it would be difficult,” he says. “I’m not saying it’s impossible because there is a great story there, but we don’t feel that’s the story we want to tell at the moment.”
