Speculation has been running rampant that PaulMcCartney was getting ready to release another solo album, and now he’s confirmed the news. The former Beatle announced that “McCartney III” will drop December 11th.
“I was living lockdown life on my farm with my family and I would go to my studio every day,” Sir Paul shares. “It was about making music for yourself rather than making music that has to do a job. So, I just did stuff I fancied doing. I had no idea this would end up as an album.”
The album is described as “mostly built from live takes of Paul on vocals and guitar or piano, overdubbing his bass playing, drumming, etc. atop that foundation.”
- As the title suggests, Paul has released two other all-solo efforts, 1970s “McCartney I” and 1980s “McCartney II.” Both of these albums featured photography by the rocker’s late wife Linda McCartney, and “McCartney III” features photography from daughter Mary McCartney.
- ONE MORE THING! Vinyl editions of the album will be released by Jack White’s Third Man Records. There will be a standard black vinyl issue, as well as a Third Man Edition of 3,000 hand-numbered red vinyl copies and a 333-copy edition.
