Rod Stewart and son Sean are probably wishing they could do this past New Year’s Eve over. Apparently, the pair were busted by police in Palm Beach, Florida on December 31st after an altercation with a security guard.
According to a police report, Rod and Sean got upset after they were denied access to a private event at The Breakers Resort. That’s when their group allegedly “began to get loud and cause a scene.” The report says as the argument escalated Sean “shoved” an event security guard, and Rod then punched him in the “left ribcage area,” although he did apologize.
“It was a brief misunderstanding and neither Rod nor Sean were detained,” a source familiar with the situation tells “People.” “Apologies were exchanged and there were no injuries.” Regardless, Rod and Sean have been accused of simple battery, and now must appear at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex on February 5th.
- Meanwhile, Stewart tells TMZ he and his father will be exonerated because the guy who’s claiming he was attacked was really the instigator. He didn’t elaborate further but insisted the truth will come out.
